This example comes fitted with Peterson’s System engineering, which is where a lot of the comfort comes from. The moisture reservoir does what it’s supposed to do — keeps things drier, steadier, and forgiving if your cadence isn’t perfect. It makes the pipe easy to live with, especially over longer smokes.

The spigot mount is proper sterling silver, not decorative trim. It strengthens the shank, gives a solid join between stem and bowl, and adds a bit of reassuring weight where you want it. The smooth briar finish shows good colour and takes handling well — this is a pipe that improves once it’s been smoked, not one you worry about keeping pristine.
