160th Anniversary Sandblasted Bent Billiard Peterson have been at it since 1865—Charles Peterson and the Kapp brothers setting up in Dublin and deciding early doors they weren’t going to follow anyone else’s lead. They built their name on doing things properly—their own drilling, their own system, their own way of making a pipe smoke better, not just look the part. And that’s carried on ever since.
The 1387 shape’s got a bit more presence than your standard bent billiard. Slightly fuller in the bowl, a touch more reassuring in the hand. Feels solid, but not clumsy—like it knows exactly what it’s about. That bend in the stem just makes it sit easy too, whether you’re holding it or letting it rest.
And that sandblast… that’s where the character lives. Deep, rugged, proper texture to it. Not some light tickle over the surface—this has been worked so the grain shows through with a bit of grit and honesty. You run your thumb over it and you can feel the briar’s story in there.
Silver band finishes it off just right. Bit of class, bit of weight to it, and ties in with the whole 160th Anniversary feel without overdoing it. It’s not trying to be anything it’s not—it just happens to be very, very good at what it is.
You’ll pick this up once, and before you know it, it’s the one you keep reaching for
