The Erik Nørding Shorty Black takes a thoroughly practical idea and presents it in a smart, understated finish. Developed by renowned Danish pipe maker Erik Nørding alongside his son Knud, the Shorty was created for smokers seeking the enjoyment of a pipe without committing to a lengthy session.
The striking black body contrasts beautifully with the white porcelain bowl, giving the pipe a clean and contemporary appearance. Its compact size allows it to slip easily into a pocket or travel bag, making it ideal for walks, breaks at work or evenings when time is limited.
Unlike a traditional briar pipe, the Shorty uses a removable porcelain bowl and a chamber filled with Nørding's unique filter stones. These small stones are produced from volcanic clay found in Denmark's Limfjord region and are highly absorbent, helping to reduce moisture and deliver a cooler, drier smoke. The bowl capacity is roughly equivalent to a cigarette, providing around twenty minutes of smoking time.
Distinctive, practical and unmistakably Danish, the Shorty Black remains one of Erik Nørding's most innovative creations.
