Peterson Halloween 2026 Rustic Briar Pipe 01 Halloween has always been a splendid excuse for a little theatricality, and Peterson of Dublin has certainly embraced the occasion with its Halloween 2026 collection. Black briar, blood-red accents and a touch of the macabre make for a rather handsome combination.

This particular example is the shape 01, a broad-bowled Bent Pot with a deep black rusticated finish and a gracefully curved stem. It's a familiar Peterson shape dressed for an altogether different sort of evening.

The bowl has a generous, almost cylindrical profile, with a broad rim and a substantial body that flows into the shank. Its chunky proportions give the pipe a pleasing sense of solidity, while the bend introduces a little elegance to the overall silhouette.

What really catches the eye is the rustication. The briar has been carved into a rugged landscape of deep ridges, hollows and irregular markings, then finished in black. It's wonderfully tactile, with the sort of appearance you might expect from something discovered in the ruins of an ancient Irish castle.

And then there's that striking red accent at the junction between shank and stem. The glossy red band, interrupted by fine black lines, stands out beautifully against the dark briar. It's an excellent piece of colour coordination, particularly for a Halloween edition.

The black stem rises in a graceful curve before turning down towards the fishtail mouthpiece. Its polished surface provides a pleasing contrast to the rougher texture of the bowl, bringing the whole design together.

Peterson has been making pipes in Dublin since the nineteenth century, and the company's reputation rests upon a long tradition of distinctive shapes, practical engineering and handsome finishes. The Halloween collection offers an opportunity to enjoy that heritage with a rather more mischievous appearance.

I particularly like the way the 01 Bent Pot suits this treatment. The broad bowl provides plenty of surface for the rustication, while the red band gives the design a striking focal point. There's enough drama here to satisfy the Halloween theme, yet the underlying shape remains unmistakably Peterson.

The two photographs show the pipe from opposite sides, giving a good view of the irregular rustication and the flowing curve of the stem. It's a design with plenty of visual character whichever way you turn it.

Naturally, the Halloween theme is the attraction, but there's nothing about the shape that confines it to October. A handsome pipe is a handsome pipe, whether you're sitting beside a roaring fire on Halloween night or enjoying a quiet afternoon in the middle of June.
