Corn Cob Pipes
The classic Corn Cob pipe made famous by Popeye.
These pipes are not only great for any fancy dress party they can be smoked and with surprising results. They smoke fairly cool with a natural sweetness from the first light and are a fraction of the price of a good briar.
Yes they are made from real corn cobs, which have been dried for up to 2 years. They are naturally porous, which allows the pipe to breath while smoking and need little breaking in.
Budget Corn Cob pipes tend to be on their last legs after a few smokes but Missouri are the word leaders in Corn Cob pipes and each cob is cured for at least 2 years before being crafted into a pipe.
The natural finish is the more characterful and obvious corn cob style that we have grown to know and love. The polished version goes through a patented process of filling the corn with a plaster based substance before sealing them for a more durable pipe. The polished will last longer than the natural.
Mc Arthur 5 Star vs Standard
The Mac Arthur is named after the founder of the Corn Cob pipe according to the original design from the 1800’s. The standard version has a large deep bowl which will keep many smokers going for many hours.
The 5 star has a shorter bore which finishes half way up the bowl for a shorter smoke.
If you can’t decide between the two go for the standard and you can always half fill the pipe or fill the base with chalk filters or the Nording keystone filters.
Please note that the dimensions are only for guidance and vary from pipe to pipe. These are a mass produced pipe so dimensions and appearance can vary substantially.
This is a generic image that we have taken from a random selection of this pipe model from our stocks. It is unlikely to be the exact pipe you will receive. Due to the nature of the raw material used and this being a handmade product there will be some variation in grain, colour and finish.
There could also be a slight variation in the dimensions provided.
