Handmade in Nicaragua at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate, these little Connecticut Shade cigarillos are smooth, creamy and dangerously easy to smoke. Mild enough for an easy daytime cigar, but still carrying enough flavour to stop them feeling bland — which is where plenty of lighter cigars fall flat on their face.

The Connecticut Shade wrapper gives the smoke a softer character with notes of cream, cedar, toasted nuts and a touch of coffee, all delivered in a neat little format that’s ideal when time’s short but you still fancy something properly handmade.

There’s also a lovely aroma to them once lit. Gentle, slightly sweet and unmistakably “proper cigar” without filling the entire street with smoke thick enough to summon passing sailors.

These are the sort of cigarillos that disappear alarmingly quickly from pockets, gloveboxes and coat drawers. Very easy to justify “just one more”.
