White Elephant White Elephant started life as a small independant producer of Briar pipes back in 1945 in Bavaria. They began importing Meerschaum for their filters from Tanzania which is where they got their inspiration for the name. The company was sold to Kopp in 2019 and their products are still made in the same factory in Ettenstatt where a few artifacts of the old machines are still stored.

Ebony And Ivory Sandblast The Ebony and Ivory pipes are a short stem pipe perfect for chucking in a pocket when you are out and about. The quality of these is highly regarded, with luscious sandblasted bowls and tightly fitting fixtures. The Bowls have been given a wonderful black stain and are finished with a nickel band and white ivory look stems. German freehand artist Reiner Thilo has given his permission to resurrect his original design of the inlaid metal sphere on the stem which looks fantastic and really adds to the tactile feel of the pipes. The Number 3 is a classic bent Rhodesian with a saddle stem.

9mm Absorbent Filter The White Elephant are designed for use with any 9mm Absorbent Filters. The larger diameter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour. No mess no fuss, simply throw the filter in the bin when it turns a dark brown colour. The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed all together for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
