Savinelli St Nicholas 2026 6mm Briar Pipe – 606 KS The 606 KS is about as traditional as a bent pipe gets. Tall Billiard bowl, long sweeping stem and a generous chamber — a shape that was doing perfectly well long before anybody thought a pipe needed reinventing.

Then Savinelli dressed it for Christmas.

The St Nicholas 2026 takes this familiar King Size Bent Billiard and gives it a rich brown rusticated finish, bringing plenty of texture to the tall bowl and long shank. Savinelli describes the 606KS as one of its classic bent shapes, distinguished by its high, spacious tobacco chamber and pronounced curve.

The photographs show that rustication particularly nicely. There are deep reddish and almost burgundy highlights across the briar, with darker colour settling into the carved surface. On a pipe this size there's plenty of briar for the finish to work across, and the upright Billiard bowl retains its traditional proportions despite the more colourful treatment.

Then comes the bit that makes it a St Nicholas.

The stem is pearlescent green acrylic, shifting from dark forest green to brighter emerald and turquoise as it catches the light. At the shank, a red acrylic band framed by two narrow aluminium rings supplies the remaining Christmas colours. Savinelli confirms this combination as the signature finish of the 2026 collection.

At 145mm long, with a 51mm-high bowl, the 606 KS is considerably more substantial than the 626. Its 20mm-wide chamber runs 45mm deep, giving it one of the roomier bowls in the St Nicholas collection.

This is the 6mm version, accepting Savinelli's 6mm balsa filters or compatible 6mm alternatives.

I rather like what they've done with this year's St Nicholas. The colours are unmistakably festive, but underneath all the decoration there's still a very traditional Italian-made Bent Billiard.

And at 45mm deep, the chamber should comfortably outlast most people's patience with the Christmas telly
