Savinelli St Nicholas 2026 6mm Briar Pipe – 111 KS There aren't many pipe shapes more straightforward than a Billiard, and that's rather the point. The proportions have been working perfectly well for generations, so Savinelli's 111 KS simply makes them a little larger.

The 111 KS is Savinelli's King Size Straight Billiard, with a tall cylindrical bowl, long straight shank and equally straight tapered mouthpiece. At around 150mm long, with a bowl standing roughly 52mm high, it has considerably more presence than the smaller 106 while retaining the clean, traditional lines of the classic Billiard.

For the St Nicholas 2026, Savinelli has given the briar a deeply rusticated brown finish. The photographs show plenty of warmer chestnut and burgundy colour across the raised texture, particularly around the bowl, while the deeper cuts remain dark and give the finish plenty of definition.

The restrained shape also makes this year's stem rather difficult to miss. Pearlescent green acrylic shifts from very dark forest green through emerald and turquoise as the light moves across it. At the shank sits the characteristic 2026 St Nicholas trim: a red acrylic band bordered by two slim aluminium rings.

It's one of the more traditional shapes in the 2026 collection, which makes the seasonal treatment all the more effective. Underneath the green, red and silver there's still a big, handsome Italian Billiard that will look perfectly sensible long after the decorations have gone back in the loft.

Although if the Christmas tree is still up in February, I'm afraid the pipe is the least of your worries.
