Savinelli, Autograph Pipes Ferrari have given the Italians a reasonable edge in the world of motoring but that's not all they strive at. Since 1876 Savinelli have kept the Italians at the pinnacle of the pipe manufacturing game! As if the normal range of Savinelli pipes doesn't stand them in high enough regard Savinelli also raise the bar with their Autograph range. They don't come much finer! Savinelli somehow manage to secure the finest Briar with absolute stunning grains. These are reserved for their most experienced craftsmen to make the one off freehand masterpieces labeled Autograph. There are many stunning freehands about but Savinelli seem to lead the way!

Savinelli Autograph Exceptionale This pipe was on display at the latest national trade show in Dortmund. The Black Swan Shoppe has been waiting on a piece like this for nearly a decade after narrowly missing out on the last masterpiece of this grade to came out of the factory. Its Exceptional in name and Exceptional in nature, totally unique and simply breathtaking!

We were privileged to speak to Domenico who worked on this piece. He has over 40 years experience in factory and noted that he has seen less than three useable blocks of Briar of this size and none have been of this supreme quality. The whole factory came to a standstill to witness this piece being finished and they were in awe of the final results.

The block was discovered in Calabria, Italy. The grain is a flawless flame grain with a beautiful and characterful bark as you would expect from a AAA graded Savinelli. This has been captured perfectly by Domenico who is one of Savinelli's finest Artisan craftsmen. The rim of the bowl has been delicately sandblasted to bring out the natural burr for another truly stunning pipe. (we say that quite a lot with Savinelli autographs)
