The Partagás Lusitania is a legend of the Cuban vitolario, a grand Prominente that has long stood as the benchmark for Double Coronas. Rolled entirely from long-filler tobaccos grown in the Vuelta Abajo region—the most prized soil in Cuba—each cigar represents the pinnacle of the Partagás house: rich, earthy, and redolent with leather, spice, and a whisper of roasted cocoa.

Presented in the traditional cedar cabinet of 50—unbanded as is customary for this format—these Lusitanias are not cigars to be rushed. The first few puffs set the tone: dense, full-bodied smoke, yet with remarkable refinement. As the two-hour journey unfolds, there is a steady evolution of flavour, with occasional bursts of black pepper and a long, savoury finish that lingers like the memory of a warm hearth.

Originally introduced in the 19th century, the Lusitania remains one of the great thoroughbreds of the Habanos stable. There’s something wonderfully ceremonious about cutting and lighting one—an act that requires time, patience, and a measure of reverence. If there’s a cigar that embodies the Cuban ideal of craftsmanship over convenience, this is it.

For collectors and connoisseurs alike, this cabinet is a worthy centrepiece. Age it five to ten years and the rewards will be immense—but even young, these cigars smoke with grandeur.
