Nording Danish Pipes:
Well they don’t come with much more history and character than Erik Nording of Denmark. He wasn’t born and bred into the pipe world but found his way after dabbling in design and engineering of varying fields. Pipe making began as a hobby before he released his work to the world and has never looked back. Nording pipes now produce around 50,000 pipes per year, which takes them into the mass market but don’t be fooled every pipe is hand carved under the careful eye of Erik Nording as he maintains the quality and heart of a boutique pipe maker with intriguing and exciting creations. All Nording pipes are still one off pipes carved to the natural flow of the grain of each individual Briar block.
Erik Nording Valhalla 200 Series
Named after the majestic hall in Norse Mythology, The Valhalla line comes from the Völsunga saga. The valkyrie, Brynhildr, was kept captive in a volcano protected by a dragon… so the story goes, then in the end Valhalla caught fire with an alchemical reaction that turned it to lead and melted into the sea. Nording gives us 5 different series of pipes from 100’s to 500’s that depict different types of finish from a smooth red to rusticated and brown. The idea is to conjure the volcano, the dragon, and heaven/hell melting into the sea. These High Quality Spigot Briar Pipes are finished with a harmonious blend of smoothness and rustication that reflects the impression of waves washing ashore the stunning Danish Coastline.
The Valhalla Series come with a 4mm Army mounted stem.
