Crowned Heads Broadway Robusto Extra – Full Box of 21 Cigars Nashville's Broadway has seen its fair share of memorable performances over the years. Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb and countless other musicians helped turn the city's honky-tonks into something of an American institution. These days the street is considerably busier, but its musical heritage remains very much alive.

It's from this part of Tennessee that Crowned Heads takes inspiration for its Broadway collection. Founded in Nashville in 2011 by Jon Huber and Mike Conder, the company has always had a fondness for connecting its cigars with music, history and the places that shaped them.

The Broadway Robusto Extra is a particularly interesting addition to the range, especially when presented in this handsome box of 21 cigars.

Each measures 4¾ inches with a 52 ring gauge, giving it a compact, generously proportioned format. Beneath the dark Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper sits a Nicaraguan binder from Jalapa, surrounding a blend of tobaccos from Estelí, Jalapa and Ometepe.

It's a combination with plenty of character. The Broadleaf contributes a rich, earthy foundation, while the Nicaraguan tobaccos bring layers of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cedar and black pepper, accompanied by a little natural sweetness.

The cigars are handmade at the NACSA factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, using traditional long-filler construction.

And then there's the presentation. Crowned Heads has chosen a deep burgundy wooden box, decorated with gold lettering and navy-blue accents. Lift the lid and you'll find the cigars arranged in neat rows, each wearing an elaborate red and gold band bearing the company's crowned emblem.

A second band carries the Broadway name, while a dark blue ribbon around the foot completes the appearance. It's an attractive arrangement, particularly against the dark brown wrappers.

I rather like the Robusto Extra format. There's something satisfying about a cigar with a generous ring gauge and a relatively compact length. It has a substantial feel in the hand, and the Broadway blend brings plenty of richness to the experience.

For anyone already acquainted with Crowned Heads, this is a fine opportunity to keep a full box of Broadway Robusto Extras in the humidor.
