Charatan Pipes In 1863, Frederick Charatan, a Russian / Jewish immigrant, opened a shop in Mansell Street in London, where he began to carve Meerschaum pipes. These pipes became very popular and thus Charatan had to move premises to Prescot Street just around the corner. Here he began to make briar pipes which made the name famous the world over. Charatan was the first brand to make entirely hand-made briars from the rough block to the finished pipe including the stems.

Charatan Grosvenor Pipes Made in the traditional way using only the finest seasoned Mediterranean briar and quality ebonite mouthpieces. The Grosvenor is a classic sandblasted finish with a deep black stain. Available in a plethora of classic shapes and a price tag that isn't going to break the bank, the Charatan pipes are a must for any pipe lover.
