Brick House Classic Natural Corona – Single Nicaraguan Cigar

Brick House is one of those cigar names with a genuine story behind it, and a rather good one at that. It takes its name from the brick family home of J.C. Newman in Hungary, a place remembered for its warmth, hospitality and the company of friends. When the Brick House brand first appeared in 1937, that sense of welcome was very much part of its identity.

The modern Brick House Classic Natural Corona carries the name forward with an entirely Nicaraguan binder and filler, dressed in an Ecuadorian Havana Subido wrapper. At 5 inches long with a 42 ring gauge, it's a traditional Corona, offering a more concentrated smoking experience than the increasingly fashionable large-ring cigars.

There's a pleasing richness to the blend. Expect earthy tobacco, cedar and toasted nuts, accompanied by coffee notes and a lively touch of pepper. The medium-to-full-bodied character gives the cigar substance, while the narrower format brings the tobacco flavours into particularly clear focus.

The wrapper has an attractive natural brown appearance, complemented by Brick House's familiar gold band. Construction is handmade, using long-filler tobacco, and each cigar is individually protected in cellophane.

J.C. Newman founded his cigar business in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1895. More than a century later, the family-owned company remains an important name in American cigar history, with Brick House among its best-known Nicaraguan offerings.

The Corona is an appealing choice for anyone who appreciates traditional cigar proportions and a flavourful, well-balanced blend. There's a great deal to enjoy here, and the modest dimensions are a useful reminder that a cigar needn't be enormous to have plenty to say.
