Barling is one of those long-standing English names that doesn’t need to shout. Founded in 1812 by Benjamin Barling, the company built its reputation on solid craftsmanship and classic, well-proportioned pipes that simply worked — and more importantly, kept working.

The Benjamin line carries that forward, and the “The Very Finest” finish sits at the smarter end of things. Clean, polished, and properly presented without tipping over into anything flashy.

This 1813 is a straight Pot, similar to a billiard, though slightly more compact in its proportions than some of the taller variants. The bowl sits a little broader and more grounded, giving it a reassuring, balanced feel in the hand.
