Sasieni Pipes There is a great deal of mystery surrounding the Sasieni pipe company, owing largely to the fact there is such a scarcity of written information about them. The founder, Joel Sasieni apprenticed at Charatan before moving to Dunhill where he became factory manager. In 1919, believing he could improve on Dunhill's processes, he set up his own factory. Things did not go smoothly and the factory burned down almost immediately. Apparently undaunted, Mr Sasieni rebuilt his factory and simply carried on. One change he incorporated into his pipe making process was to oven cure his briar over a period of 6 weeks, removed regularly by a factory worker to wipe away the moisture with a rag and to check for cracks. Sasieni was not oblivious to the success of the Dunhill white spot and decided to give his pipes a single blue spot on the stem, Not surprisingly, the idea of a former employee competing with them using a similar trademark did not go done well with Dunhill who threatened legal action and thus, the 4 Dot logo was born.

Sasieni 4 Dot 18XL The 4 Dot 18XL is a large proportioned Poker with a Rusticated finish and a high gloss Jet black stain. The thick walls ensure a cool smoke and the flat bottom means you can put it done without it rolling over for easy filling. The black saddle stem is finished with the trademark 4 Dot blue logo.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a generic image that we have taken from a random selection of this pipe model from our stocks. It is unlikely to be the exact pipe you will receive. Due to the nature of the raw material used and this being a handmade product there will be some variation in grain, colour and finish. There could also be a slight variation in the dimensions provided.
