Joya De Nicaragua Cigars: The original Nicaraguan cigar. Joya de Nicaragua was established in 1968, making it the very first premium handmade cigar manufacturer in Nicaragua. Nicaragua has suffered countless hard times over the last few decades, which has made offering their cigars on the worldwide market difficult but sheer passion, determination and outstanding Cigars have kept the company alive and today we are able to enjoy their cigars in the UK once again. In recent years their Cigars have won countless awards and it’s safe to say that Joya De Nicaragua are back on the map as one of the leading cigar manufacturers in the world. In 2016 the Black Swan Shoppe was honoured to be part of the first UK expedition to Nicaragua for over 30 years to see first hand what is happening on the Nicaraguan Cigar scene. To say we were blown away was an understatement. We were met by very passionate family-owned companies and Joya, in particular, greeted us with tear-filled passion and could not wait to show us their Cigars and the enchanting traditional processes they use to take seeds and turn them into some of the finest Cigars in the world. Every aspect of the process is done by hand by passionate people who take great pride in their work going to exceptional lengths to ensure the finished products are of the finest quality.
