Peterson High Grade The Peterson High Grade represents the pinnacle of their regular production pipes. The high grade designation is reserved for only the very best pipes that leave the factory. Each pipe is distinguished by its plentiful grain and expert metal fitments shaped and applied by their most experienced craftsmen. Their silversmiths are among the most talented in the world, having undergone traditional five-to-eight-year apprenticeships under a senior craftsman; each smith has engineered his own mandrel, meaning that every metal fitment is imprinted with the subtle, personal style of the one who machined it.

Peterson Barley Spigot Peterson Spigots are notoriously rare and usually take pride of place in any collection. The Spigot evolved on the front lines as soldiers repaired their pipes with spent cartridges. Peterson evolved this into hallmarked sterling silver band and tapered fitting on the stem of a high grade pipe. Like any other wood or organic material, briar often presents a certain degree of colour variation and natural flaws. For the Barley spigot line however this is accentuated by sandblasting and being given a virgin natural finish to show all these flaws in a crisp relief without any additional staining. Given this blank finish, over time, these pipes will continue to darken and patinate to further elevate the natural feel and look of the bare wood

Peterson 124 The Peterson 124 is a straight briar with a fairly tall, attractive Zulu / Yachtsman shaped bowl. The bowl is slightly offset, which helps keep the pipe away from the face, whilst still keeping an elegant silhouette. First seen in the 1945 catalogue where it was described as a Dublin it disappeared in the literature until the mid 1960's where it resurfaced with a 6.25" mouthpiece and 1/8th bend before disappearing again until 1983 when it came back in the Shamrock line.

Fishtail mouthpiece: The standard mouthpiece for most pipe manufacturers. The fishtail has the exit hole in the end of the mouthpiece. The end of the mouthpiece is flat, which some people find easier to grip, and suits the smoker who doesn’t get on with the p.lip style.

ONE OFF PIPE: This is a one off pipe and the pipe in the picture is the exact pipe you will receive. Please not that colour varies depending on your computer monitor and may not replicate the colour exactly.
