In 1911, the skilled tobacco blender Charles Rattray made his dream come true and took over a tobacco shop in the old Scottish capital of Perth. Only after a short while, the store became the top address for tobacco enthusiasts. In his small tobacco factory, he blended exquisite specialities for the discerning smoker. Today, Kohlhase Kopp & Co. continue to work to his original recipes and ideals.
A charming, perfectly balanced dark mixture of Virginia tobaccos, Orientals, Black Cavendish and a luxurious quantity of Latakia. The ash is pale grey and similar to that of a good cigar. A wonderful, spicy mixture.
The Charles Rattray’s Red Rapparee is a ready rubbed tobacco blend. Ready rubbed tobacco is made up of loose strands and is ready for immediate use in the pipe with no preparation for added convenience and enjoyment.
