Chacom Pipes (St Claude)

Chacom is a family owned company who can trace their pipe making heritage to 1825 before Briar was even discovered. They are based in St Claude which is widely recognised as the pipe making capital of the world.
They are one of very few pipe manufacturers who make pipes from start to finish. From ageing the Briar right through to hand finishing.

Chacom Bienne 9mm Pipes

The Chacom Bienne are a stunning reading pipe which is a welcome addition to our shelves. There are very few pipes on the market that fill the gap between churchwarden and standard pipes as some smokers which to have a balance between the cool smoking but cumbersome churchwarden pipe. These enable the bowls to be a bit more substantial than you would usually get on a traditional churchwarden and are also more travel friendly.

The Bienne’s styling is simply stunning with a marbled amber Acrylic mouthpiece contrasting against the expertly sandblasted Black bowl. Chacoms sandblasting is simply amazing and really highlights the beautiful grain on Chacom’s Briar. The pipe is finished with a contrasting chrome band and mount which ties in nicely with the inlaid metal chacom logo on the stem.

Filter Choice

The Chacom Bienne pipes can be smoked with a condensing filter (included) or a 9mm absorbent filter. The larger diameter of a 9mm filter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour.
The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
